Bread Day or Jekabi is celebrated at the Āraiši Windmill each year at the end of July.
According to ancient tradition, Jekabi is the day of new rye harvest from which bread is made. Āraiši is a picturesque place which holds very Latvian spirit. Bread Day is a time when true bakers gather and share their knowledge. Families with children can do activities at the “Bread loaf trail” and even can bake their own bread loaf. During the day there are various bread tastings,music, market, creative workshops, “Miller’s dinner” and other activities.

In the evening at 20:00 there is a fantastic concert of etno-folk group “Auļi”and “Tautumeitas”. It is an opening concert of their new album at Araiši Archeological Park.
